When preparing a planter for the season, it’s easy to focus on the major components and overlook the wear developing in the row units.
As part of our planter inspections, one issue we regularly come across is excessive wear in the parallel arms. Even when a planter looks to be in good working order, worn bushes and movement in the parallel arm can affect how the row unit performs.

Start with the basics: check for wear
In the example Jason shows in the video, there is significant wear in the parallel arm bush. The bush has worn the parallel arm, creating noticeable a slop and movement in the row unit. This type of wear is worth identifying before heading into the paddock.
